3D model of Monsterborg chassis

Hi,

If possible, can you please share a 3D model of the Monsterborg's chassis. I would like to cut a similar chassis but with more width for more powerful motors.

Thanks!
Danesh.

Trouble using 2 controllers simultaneously

Hi all,

I have built a robot using a RasPi 4, 2 ThunderBorg motor controllers and 8 AA batteries. Each motor controller works fine when tested individually, but when both are connected to the Pi only the controller that is connected to the battery pack seems to be working.

This has me buffled somewhat, I have followed the wiring instructions to the best of my ability, but can only assume I have wired sth incorrectly - or maybe that the power supply is not strong enough?

I have included some photos below, I would appreciate any suggestion you could give me.

Use of 18650 Batteries with ThunderBorg

Hi all,

A bit new to all of this and certainly to the electronics bit. I was building a robot with the thunderborg controller. If I am not mistaken the controller should be able to deal with up to 35v of power. I had decided to use 4 18650 batteries connected in parallel to power the controller and the Pi. However, when I did that both the thunderborg and the Pi got fried. I know this is part of the learning curve, but I am not sure where I went wrong. Can you pls advise?

Thank you

Is it in stock?

Hi there,
are DiddyBorg v2 and MonsterBorg in stock? Asking from Canada.

and how long does it take to ship to Canada?

Thanks,
Thomas

Including thunderborg python code on github?

Hello,

I'd was wondering if this is OK with PiBorg?

Thunderborg not found.

In October I succesfully built my monsterborg and everything worked well. Now I had to reinstall Raspberry pi os and when trying to execute ./runMonsterJoy.sh I get an error message saying missing thunderborg at 15, thunderborg was not found. I checked everything and it should work fine (I tested it using i2c detect and it says that i2c addres 15 is in use). Please let me know if you need further information.

Edit: I ran a pintest using wiringpi this is the result (I think this means every pin should be working fine):

Upgrade to Thunderborg

Hi I have just bought a Thunderborg to replace a piborg Reverse that has died after many years.

I currently power my RPI from a USB Powerbank and my Reverse from an 8 x AA battery pack.

On the Reverse I had the 3 pin connector 5v5v0v connected to the RPI and the Powerbank powering the RPI.

Can I still do this with the Thunderborg or will this blow up something?

Obviously I could just power the RPI from the Thunderborg, but I would prefer to use the Powerbank if possible, but would probably need to have more batteries.

Many Thanks

Steve C

Two 5V pins

The Thunderborg has two 5v pins on it and I wasn't quite sure which each one does. Are both necessary? From looking around the best guess I have is that one is to supply power to the daisy chain connector and the other is to feed the power back to the pi, but I'm not quite sure. If that is the case, it's safe to only use one of the connectors right?

Monster Borg cant start script on start

i have been able to use the run once command. This allows the robot to drive forwards and back but cant swap back and forth with tank mode.
i followed the instructions to start the scri-p on start-up but nothing happens and i get no errors. any ideas?

Monsterborg and pi Zero W

Hi all,

I'm new to this but I'd like to get a MonsterBorg. I saw on the Kickstarter page that it was intended for Pi 3 and Pi Zero and compatible with the Pi 4 (even if it doesn't respect Pi 4 specs). Pi 3 is kinda hard to find now and Pi 4 may be a bit overkill. So is it ok to use a Pi Zero with the monsterborg (It wasn't mentinned in the starting guide) ? Will it work with the camera too?

Best regards.
