Lenses

Forums:

We need to add a lens on top of the LEDBorg in order to maximise the light and, effectively, shine it directly in the eyes of someone looking at it from 20m.

Has anyone had any success with any lenses? Can you recommend any?

Running out of GPIO

Forums:

HI,

Love my LedBorg, I also use it as a power (watt) indicator via a currentcost meter, however as it takes up 3 gpio's and I am running out, so I am playing with I2C with a MCP23017 chip, no issue connecting to 3 of the potential 16 additional input/outputs it just the software side I am wondering about, anyone have any solution ?

Status of Ledborg

Forums:

Hi , I am new to Ledborg and python , and wondering is there a way to check on the status of the Ledborg.

Just after a way to echo back to the terminal what value the ledborg is at.

For example if the LedBorg is showing a red light value "200" is there a way to return to print a line back to the terminal saying the colour showing is red ?

Thank You

RaspMinimalclock

Forums:

Hi all,
i made a Minimal Clock (very minlmal !) with my Raspberry and a ledborg, because when late my TV don't have a clock and i go bed too late; so i made this with a script in bash launched every 10 minut

When script start make some flash, 5 white for take attenction, some red flash for 10x Hour, some orange flash for hour and some green flash for 10x minus.

If more than 24:00 also 6 alternate red-blue (late...)
if more than 1:00 also 15 alternate red-blu loud (VERY late...)

Switch LED off in Python

Forums:

The helpful examples in Python show loops that run forever.
I want to make a sequence that sets the LED to a random colour 10 times, waits 2 seconds and then turns off the LED.
The loop and the change of colours are no problem.
When the code has exited the loop, the LED stays on at the last random colour selected.
I have tried LedBorg.write('000') to no avail, also creating a colour called off with value "ooo" and using LEDBorg.write(off) but the LED stays on at the last random colour in the loop, The code exits the loop correctly. What am I doing wrong pls?

Install failing with "invalid module format".

Forums:

Hi,

I'm new to Pi and Linux (well, I did give Linux a prolonged go about 10 years ago... but gave up- neither of us was mature enough!).

I have my Ledborg, but am struggling, having followed the instructions.

My Pi is a 512MB Model B Rev 2, with a fresh & updated Raspian install.

I followed the instructions, but repeatedly get "invalid module format".

uname -r gives a result of 3.6.11+, which is a later kernel than any other versions mentioned?

RISC OS

Forums:

LedBorg needs RISC OS too. I have made a program that can drive the LedBorg on RISC OS, you can find it at
Egel.org . It is still in development, but try it and write what can be improved. It uses the GPIO module from tankstage .

Less bright (or dim the light)?

Forums:

Is it possible to dim the light?

I know that you can change 002 to 001 but when mixing RGB it would kill some colours.

Anyway still love the little LedBorg. :-)

Keep up the good work!
