Raspberry Pi 3b+ compatibility

Hello,
have you already tested the compatibility of the MonsterBorg with the new Raspberry Pi 3b+?
Are there any known problems or compatibility issues?
Or is there a significant performance improvement?
Thank you & best regards,

Battery Power & Thunderborg

Since switching from a picoborg rev my pi 3b won't boot from a fully charged battery pack (runs fine with mains power) Previously I had two battborgs one serving the rev and the other the pi 3b but connected to the same 9.6v battery ni-mh pack.

MonsterAuto.py OpenCV Issue

Hi;

I have installed OpenCV 3.4.0 and would like to use MonsterAuto.py for line following however when I try and start the script I get the following error:

I have installed OpenCV 3.4.0. When running MonsterAuto.py I get the following error:

FollowMe Example with MonsterBorg

I don't suppose anyone has had luck getting something like the FollowMe or Ball follow example to work on the Monsterborg? I've tried, with my extremely limited experience, to make the necessary changes to port the example over but the errors are too numerous to sift through.

Before anyone asks, I did replace all instances of ZB and ZeroBorg with TB and ThunderBorg and set the power settings correctly. There were also some issues with the comms failsafe, led functions and then some general threading/picamera stuff that didn't work either.

Suggestions?

Raspio Inspiring support

I added the 4 wires to the thunderborg (http://forum.piborg.org/thunderborg/install) but the lights don't work with the example code (tbExternalLedWave.py) No error shown. Thunderborg is found. The voltage level on red/black is 3.3V - but the Inspiring LED board wants 5V, so the whole thing is not working. I even cannot see any logic levels happening on CI/DI with a logic analyzer. What is wrong?

Kind regards,
Markus

Thunderborg C++ Driver

Hello,

I've been working on a basic Thunderborg C++ driver here https://github.com/tyler124/thunderborg_driver_cpp

It's mostly working, although a few of the function input parameters have been changed for my own purposes, i.e changing units from meters to centimeters.

Thunderborg on DiddyBorgV2 movement variability

Hi!

I am currently doing a project to create a testbed for Intelligent Transportation Systems using DiddyBorg V2. The general idea is that the robots should follow an internal map with help from camera input and drive in a regular traffic scenario.

ThunderBorg watchdog timer?

I was test-driving my MonsterBorg with a Python program using the SetMotor1() and SetMotor2() functions. While the robot was in motion, the Linux O/S on the Raspberry Pi crashed and I lost control. The robot continued to move forward, however, and I could not stop it except by picking it up and turning off the power switch.

Do you currently have a watchdog timer or hearbeat function available in the ThunderBorg, or can you add one? I think this functionality has to be in the firmware on the ThunderBorg, then made available by functions in ThunderBorg.py.

Thunderborg high pitch noise

Hi, i'm using the thunderborg to power my LEGO power functions train. Its works perfectly however there is this high pitch noise coming from the motor. This occurs putting the motor in forward or reverse, when the motor is stationary there's no high pitch noise. I would presume this is due to PWM, is it possible to change the PWM frequency ?
